Delicious choc chip oatmeal cookie recipe

Kids come home after a long, tiring day at school and you’re wondering how to satisfy their roaring tummies?
 
Here’s an amazing after-school snack recipe that’ll turn their frown upside down and keeping them running till dinner time.
 
 
What you’ll need:
 
150g butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 cup flour
2 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 1/4 cups chocolate chips
 
So, here’s how you go about with the preparation:
 
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper and set aside.
  2. Blend butter and brown sugar in a mixture. Next, add some vanilla extract and egg.
  3. In a bowl, combine the flour, oats and 1 cup of the chocolate chips.
  4. Fold in the butter and sugar mixture until well combined.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes until pale golden. Leave to cool on the tray for 5 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool.
  6. Roll tablespoon-sized balls of mixture and use the flat bottom of a glass to press them down a little. Sprinkle a few of the remaining chocolate chips on each cookie.
